As this website is
updated and new sat navs added to the pages we
will be allocating them a BSN rating. The
rating is a number between 0 and 100, or Nil.
The icons look like this:

The number is calculated by a simple
equation that I won't go into in great detail
as that will be a bit too boring. Put simply
the number is derived as an average
of the scores given to that particular sat
nav device by consumer magazines such as
Which?, and consumer and review websites, and
most importantly the scores given to it by
actual buyers of that device.
The more popular the device, and by that I
mean the more reviews and customer feedback,
the better as the BSN rating will more
accurately reflect the scores and
feedback from the buying public. For your
information, and to help you gauge how popular
a sat nav device is, if you hover your mouse
over the BSN Rating icon, you will see a box
pop up saying 'BSN Rating: 75/100 (30)',
indicating that this sat nav has a score of 75
out of a possible 100 and that 30 reviews were
used to come to that score. Only a select
number of sites are searched so there may be a
vast number of reviews scattered all over the
Internet but it would be impossible to track
them all.
If no reviews or customer feedback is found
for a certain device then a Nil score will be
given as there isn't any feedback to go on.
We hope you will find the BSN rating
useful.
Happy shopping and safe driving.
